Verity Sayles is an essayist from New England. After moving to the Pacific Northwest she became interested in place-based writing and how space can shape one’s identity. She appreciates fragmented forms, intersections of science and art, concrete details, and airplane food. She earned her MFA in Creative Nonfiction from Oregon State University in 2016 and is currently at work on her first book. She lives in Seattle where she teaches high school English.
